diptych; pencil on paper
60 x 80 cm, 2 pieces

Anže Šmalc finds an artistic reference for his diptych inside SAD, more precisely, the state of Arizona, after which the work is titled. With a drawing technique, the author compares the motives of artificial gardens with those of desert landscapes to point out problems of territorialism and to draw a parallel between two distinct time periods – one of a contemporary division of the state and the other connected to prehistoric water receding events.
