The work of Melanie Cobham Subclass 500 is a series of six hand-sewn tapestries hanged on a wall. The tapestries are made according to the design of Visas with their content turned into colors and sounds. In the whole work recent political and social stands towards migrants are questioned – to what extent are they considered strangers and what are the collective views on notions of belonging and dehumanization?
