Fire Together, Wire Together

Aluminum, zinc, potassium aluminum sulfate crystals 159 x 20,7 x 2,8 cm
Nadia Hauri’s Fire Together, Wire Together is a sculpture made from various inorganic materials, mostly metals and their derivatives. Abstract and vaguely geometric, the mentioned work, procures effects of clearness and “weightlessness,” almost “levitating” in space which gently passes through its longitudinal characteristics.
On the sculpture’s lower part lies a formation of crystals further emphasizing its “etheric” qualities, especially in unison with unpolished, slightly bent aluminum. Of course, this gentle reciprocity of materials only introduces us to Hauri’s practice of using form and space as vestiges for different topics. Therefore, behind each structure lies some connotation: desire, equilibrium, healing, or protection.
Nadia Hauri was born 1989 in Aarau, Switzerland. From 2021-2023 she got her masters in Fine Arts at Zurich University of Art. From 2007-2011 she had specialist training as pharmaceutical assistant. Lives and works in Zurich.
